As a parent of three kids and a partner to me missus, it occurred to me the natural order of things is to be a tree-hugging socialist.

We hook up with other human beings, and in most cases share our wealth, income and assets with them. We bring up kids, again, by sharing our material & non-material wealth, with no expectations of financial return. The kids are also taught to look out for each other and to share.

All things going well, the family unit will in some shape or form provide material or non-material support to family members for the rest of their lives. This, to me, is the natural order of the world. The family structure provides the foundation of human civilisation.... & that happens to be steeped in socialist principles.

What I am saying is that we're all socialists deep down so lets get behind Julia & give her an Good Ozzie go at de-carboning the world....
