Thanks @shovel40, @Fiji1, @uncleBuck, @JohnI and morning crew.
Half-time wrap:
The share market trimmed sharp initial losses as gains in tech and property stocks helped offset falls among gold miners and healthcare providers.
A 71-point opening plunge softened to a mid-session loss of 26 points or 0.3% as Santos, Coles, NAB and other heavyweights turned positive.
At the halfway mark, the tech, REIT, energy and consumer discretionary and staples sectors had crept into the green. Notable gains included Boss Energy +6.29%, WiseTech +3.34% and AMP +6.07%.
The early weakness followed a mixed close on Wall Street on Friday where the sectors that matter most on the ASX ended lower. The S&P 500 dipped less than 0.1% from Thursday's record close. The Dow suffered a more significant 0.59% setback.
Personal trading: Goldies dragged to the woodshed this morning. Had to ride out a pretty brutal dip in OBM. Safe haven? Pffft!
