Perhaps it is better to lock the rioters up for 20 years instead of deporting them in case they should return...
Does anyone know if they are fingerprinted on arrival? Otherwise, what's to stop them coming back in a few weeks/months, paperless and with a change of name and a different story? Money doesn't seem to be too much of a problem for these people to pay the boat smugglers.
However, I think it highlights how risky it is to keep allowing paperless people into the country. With no knowledge of their history, surely we could easily be letting in escaped prisoners or wanted persons from other countries.
And they are clearly jumping the queue leaving legitimate refugees to wait in crowded camps. Nobody likes rude queue jumpers when everyone else waits patiently in line.
