A proper comparison of the various technologies to replace non-renewables such as coal should factor in a comparison of the inputs & energy to make the technology, any residual matter, output of the technology and any other environmental impacts.
I am not a tech person, so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts using the above rules for proper comparison.
I was wondering what the water consumption of a geothermal system would require. I acknowledge that it is intended to be a closed loop system but wouldn't there be residual losses?
