Not sure what charts you have been looking at, but you seem to have lost your autistic super-genius powers.
DOW was around 14,100 in Oct '08, before the crunchy-credit, and has just crossed back over 12000 after a Japan-induced worry. Still a bit more for the DOW to go yet sport.
Australia will dance to it's own tune, a lot of carry-trade and other plans are over-weight here, as compared to other destinations.
On a happier note, I managed to get a few PDN on discount for the first-time; I'm now in bed with big JB.
