It?s good to be reminded from time to time that, yes; this is STILL a speculative stock. However, we all have a strong desire to be the first to invest in the next generation of really big companies such as, dare I say, the likes of Apple, Microsoft and many other game changing companies. This company has IMHO the potential to be a game changer within the biotech world also. A bold statement I know, but I think well founded nonetheless. However, whilst the potential risks inherent in biotech companies are always present, the potential rewards, to me at least, outweighed the possible threats to my hard earned cash.

I think that most of us have really tried to get their heads round the science, as best as we are able, and decided that here was the basis for a successful business. We all knew, or should have known, the extraordinarily long time scales involved to bring to fruition something as innovative as this. I can well imagine the level of skepticism the BOD has encountered along the way, as this tech is likely to supercede many well established ways of doing things.

My personal view, which I took some time ago, was that the science was indeed, a done deal; the major challenge was always to combine the vastly differing mindsets of the academics with those individuals and/or organizations whose only concerns were commercial ones. These concerns were, if I remember correctly, shared by many in the not to distant past. It has been a steep learning curve for those directly involved and they have had to learn quickly. They have, for example, had the foresight to change tack to accommodate the ever changing circumstances they have found themselves in, in what is a very dynamic environment and temporarily shifted the main emphasis of their research and commercial considerations from pharmaceuticals to cosmeceuticals.

I have noted that a number of commentators have been uneasy with this turn of events. I, on the other hand, have found this line of thinking rather encouraging. After all, according to evolutionary theory; that which is the most adaptable is more likely to survive. Can this theory be just as equally applied to a fledgling biotech as it can to the natural world? I think so. Therefore, do I think that we now have a good team in place with the right mixture of skills, and more importantly, do I still believe in them? My answer to both these questions is a resounding yes.

I have kept the faith, and Im pretty sure it is not of the blind variety, for a number of years and will continue to hold as I feel that we are getting ever closer to some significant news which will, fingers crossed, reward my patience and of course everyone elses who have had the courage, determination and stamina to stay invested.

I also think, like a number of others, that in the near term we are in for some exciting times.

Please be aware that all of the above comments are just my own personal assessments and gut feelings as to where I think we are at the present time.

    Good luck one and all.
