what do you look for when you are searching for a trade? you obviously have an idea of what a trade setup you like to trade looks like or you would have nothing to serach for!
therefore you screen for whatever conditions satisfy your trade setup
do you trade breakouts? if so, you might screen for stocks that are making 52 week highs, or stocks that are making weekly highs, or hourly highs....depending on your trade timeframe.....or you could scan for stocks that have risen more than 5%, 10%, 25% in the past day/week/month....or dropped by that much
do you trade anomalous volume? if so you might screen for stocks that have their highest volume on record, or a volume that is 50% above the average....or 50% below the average
what size stocks do you trade? you could scan for only ASX20 stocks, or ASX200 stocks
or a combination of these things
if you can define your trade setup well, then you can make a scan to help you find one
