The most pressing question from all of this then is the size of the stockpile that can be created at the port. Does anyone have a number for this ? In oreder for things to be truly rosy here we need to be able to be able to hold around 200,000 tonnes in it to ensure year round mining. Otherwise, payment at the port is not going to mean much if we can only store one or 2 months worth of coal during a 6 month dry period.
I don't see any discussion about coal degradation during the dry season. Can we assume from this that we will get the same price per tonne regardless of whether the coal is mined fresh or if it's been stockpliked at the post for 5 months ?
