Why would QVT not want a higher share price/valuation of the company?? If they then wanted to sell their 100 million shares they could do at a discount to the current share price and find a buyer. Surely that would be more beneficial to them than as you say holding down the share price and accepting a low ball offer??
How much of a position to the management/board have in the company?
