"did he get a "certificate of aboriginality" "
I would say not. I'll ask him next time I see him, which is reasonably frequently lately..
BUT I have known others who lived with the Aboriginals in the Central Desert, underwent the painful initiation ceremonies, and fought and hunted with spears....
One is now a Jehova's Witness in Kalgoorlie....he went from desert warrior to preacher...
Now, I bet none of them were issued a "Certificate", lol, but the fact that they lived bears testiment to their acceptance by their tribes.....
....and the "system" recognised them as Aboriginals out there on payday....what more do you want?
