News: Downer wins $275M of new work

    Engineering company Downer EDI Ltd (ASX:DOW) says it has secured $275 million of new contract wins, with Downer's share likely to be $140 million in revenue.



    Among the road building and maintenance contracts, Downer and joint venture partner Mouchel have been awarded a second integrated service agreement with Main Roads Western Australia. 



    The work if for the maintenance and asset management of over 3,800 kilometres of road in the north west of the state.

     

    Main Roads Western Australia have also awarded Downer a $40 million contract to design and construct the duplication of the Dampier Highway in Western Australia.



    Downer also advises that it has secured a $60 million contract by Queensland Transport and Main Roads for works on a section of the Bruce Highway. 



    For the first half of the 2011 financial year Downer recorded a net loss of $103.8 million.
