Japan's woes just reinforce the fallacy behind the spin from nuclear proponents.
Now where's old Ziggy when you need him?
Am I right in saying the industry has yet to find a permanent storage for its waste, and (not counting the concrete sarcophagus at Chernolbyl) is yet to fully decommission an old reactor?
I saw the projected costs of 'cleaning up' the mess at Fukushima .. (if its really ever possible to do) .. and assume the Japanese taxpayer will have to pick up the tab. They'd never ask the shareholders in Tokyo power to do that.
At this point in history ... Nuclear' little more than an energy ponzi scheme .. founded on the never-never!
But sadly you've only to read Jared Diamond's Collapse to appreciate how often societies are collectively frog like .. happily enjoying the warming bath.
What gloomy post that is .. time for a run i think
