Remember the "Asian invasion" of the 80's? They just got educated and now contribute a great deal to our society. Before that there were the Greeks and Italians, the Balts and Jews, before that the Irish etc etc etc, it goes on and on. Incidentally many refugees from the Middle East are actually Christians or Sufis and are fleeing persecution from fundamentalist Muslims. There's always some initial difficulty with integration but just chill, be friendly, accepting, and all will be OK just as it has before.
Your sitting on the computer right now has given you more risk of harm and death through the effects of being sedentary than any possible risk of harm from people with different skin colour and clothes.
