"we're switching from nuclear to coal, as many governments, like Germany's, are doing right now"

"Germany's move to close seven reactors has relinked its power market with coal prices, and many traders said the correlation could be there to stay."

"Germany has brown coal reserves lasting 200 years and cannot afford to give up burning the fuel in electricity generation plants, the Chief Executive of utility RWE said in a report on Saturday."

Germany are the worlds biggest lignite burners....double Aust. The nuclear issue has them turning to lignite in a big way - but obviously they are going to have increasing pressure on them to clean it up....ditto for China who were heading head first into nuclear.
China would now be looking even more intently at cleaning up brown coal. It seems the move away from nuclear to coal is going to be sustained. What an opportunity for Coldry.
Id say Tincom are more "accepting" of ECT's terms since the Japan nuclear issue - as it is now more obvious to them that coal prices are likely to stay over $120 indefinitely...makes $45 cheap when you consider the brown coal input cost will change little over decades.
Vietnam had recently ann significant nuclear plants to be built - likely that is canned and Coldry looks more enticing? Nuclear wont go away - but it seems thermal coal is definitely going to be viewed as the easier way to go. Full stop. Nuclear = Too hard basket.
Obviously the Chinese etc would be thinking similar to Tincom - lets seriously run the ruler over Coldry....and maybe ECT itself?
All this LJ stuff will soon pass - ECT are entering the main streams mentality imo. These test burns dont lie.
