re: Ann: Metal Storm, DSTO and Airtronic USA,... Well you could take that view but it is more like the chicken and the egg IMO. One needs the other. Using the iPOo iPhone iPad example - in each case the hardware was required to drive the development of software and associated peripherals. But the real money spinner in this is the marketing deal - the App store - which developers went for back then because the alternative did not guarantee more than 10% royalties whereas Apple did and does pay them 30%.
Consumers got a good deal ie cheap legal content and authors got a good deal
So Apple designed a business plan to assist their product launch and market share gain, which once established has become a huge barrier to entry for competitors.
In each case there was competition Sony with the IPod (remember Walkman), Nokia with the iPhone and Kindle reader with the iPad.
So if our company can get their products introduced to a huge market via the collaboration deal great - it gets the product to the ultimate consumer and (provided it works) develops a desire for more products that use our technology. And then we start to see a return for our long held belief in the efficacy of the product concept.
Remember mate MST's track record right now looks pretty lousy as far as the market is concerned.
