Gillard herself promised that she would not contest the leadership on several occasions. And now it seems that she had always had her sights set on being PM.
Yeah, agree with BB that this means nothing. Labor MPs don't seem to have any difficulty teling porkies - and then just laugh it off when they backflip.
And wonder if any more "pork barrelling" at taxpayers expense has gone on to keep Rudd from spilling too many beans. In some circumstances, isn't this called "bribery"?
