    And Malcolm gave a speech yesterday about how Howard should have set up a sovereign wealth fund instead of giving away the proceeds of the mining boom at tax cuts and middle class welfare and fueling the house price bubble. And I agree with Malcolm on this. He is obviously setting himself up as an alternative leader.

    Would I prefer Turnbull as PM to Abbott? Absolutely. He is socially liberal, has a good grasp of economics and uses logic, instead of God, to make decisions. And he supports a price on carbon.

    Would I prefer Turnbull as PM to Gillard. No, because of the risk of the extremists in his party coming back out the woodwork.

    Seriously, if Turnbull was opposition leader, would the coalition lose any votes? I doubt it. The extremists would go to One Nation etc, but the votes would come back as preferences. But he would win votes from Labour voters and Green voters.

    IMO Abbott will be gone long before the next election
