G'day CB, although I usually agree with you, I don't really go along with the "no promotion" idea. Most companies employ PR people, partly to improve sales and market share, but ultimately to enhance profits, corporate strength and shareholder support and value. Even small companies with limited resources do promotional work to build themselves into larger companies.
The basic tenet is that management have an all-round responsibility to perform for the benefit of the shareholders, and that includes doing whatever is necessary to support the share price.
I don't think I have ever criticised CTP's management, because although the results to date have been somewhat disappointing, I believe that their wider vision has created a potentially mammoth energy producer. However, I do think that the flow of information to shareholders and to the wider community could be improved.
Despite all the knockers on the coal story in the past, I stick to the sentiment expressed in my earlier posts, where I said that I believed that the coal would ultimately be a bigger story than the oil.
