recently got rid of avg on all my machines, it has become to resource hungry and runs too many processes.

currently using microsoft essentials which is free. comodo? is also meant to be good.

i have also read of a lot of people using a paid for(once off) version of malwarebytes. (been tempted to get this).

imo, the best protection would be free mirosoft essential + paid for malwarebytes.

if searching dodgy webpages script blocker add on to firefox is also very good.
