For those not yet up to speed,

The big blockbuster has been the oxycodene patches that 3M are developing. This product is primarily for the millions of chronic pain sufferers and is designed to have a systemic effect, that is via the blood.

We are led to believe from the lodge report that POH are looking into using Oxycodene as a GEL for localized pain relief (non-systemic) effecting opiod receptors in the peripheral nervous system.
We are also to believe that the proof of concept is to take place this quarter.

So the pain portfolio referred to may include the oxypatch for systemic effect, oxy gel for localised deep effect, lidocaine superficial anasthetic, and diclofenac as a deeper penetrating anti-inflammatory.
