Suggest there's a pretty reliable old adage about not investing in what you do not understand. In your case it might be not caring about, but imho just as applicable.
Imho also it is very hard to blame management in this case, except for having been optimistic. But hey they are oilers and we all know (or should be now) that these folk use optimism to survive like you and I use oxygen.
Sometimes it just doesn't work out how we would like. That's life.
