Magellan may be able to secure the funds for Evans before the deadline but then what? Seems they are overstretched with the purchase. A pipeline and plant in Darwin will cost them plenty more than the Evans purchase price. Add in high CO2 content and long lead times for approvals, EIS, traditional owners blah blah blah and TS is a beacon.

The premier of NT wants Magellan to build the plant there, but will the NT gov assist Magellan to the tune of around 1 Billion dollars? No way, I reckon $150 million at the max. That's a long way short of the savings TS can offer.
