Fully agree Patricus - having worked in IP I was always astounded at what can be claimed as an inventive step when enough money is flung at patent attorneys. There'll be ways to fill in the grand canyon just a bit. Another favorite is for a major player to come up with something that they can slap a patent on, then convince a regulating authority that this element should be mandated into every product in a category. If you didn't buy enough PRR shares back in the day, invest now in some extra years of uni for your kids to add IP law to their main degree. Get them qualified as patent lawyers so they can keep you in the manner to which you could become accustomed!
