On Monday WOW released sales figures for 3QFY11. Overall growth was 5.1% over pcp. Adjusted for easter it rose 5.6%. CEO retained EPS growth at 6-9% for full year.
Over past 9 months Coles have outperformed Woolies by a considerable margin. Will wednesday's figures show that WOW are reducing the gap or will Coles retain their faster growth? It's interesting that WES consistently decline to produce a target for holders re expected EPS. WOW produce one at start of each F.Year and adjust it along the way if required.
My estimate is that 3Q will show WOW have narrowed gap on Coles.
