Diamond prospector targets Aim

Broker Seymour Pierce plans to bring Reefton Mining, a tiny Australian exploration company looking for diamonds on the coast of Namibia, to Aim through an introduction later this month, writes Robert Tyerman.


Backed by Australian-based entrepreneur Roger Nikolaenko, Reefton is prospecting for gems on part of Namibia's Skeleton Coast, designated Diamond Area Three. The De Beers giant is busy further along the coast, and Reefton's geological team hopes to start work in June.

Reefton began life as a small gold producer, but has shifted its focus to diamonds. Its shares are trading Down Under at the equivalent of 1.85p. The price is likely to be affected by the first exploration results from Area Three, expected in September.
