No matter what many of you people think, religion is a fact of life and all the stuff you say will not change that one iota. You should not deprive your children any knowledge of religion because they will be unprepared for it in the real world. I am talking about knowledge not the bigoted knowledge many of you express here.
The other thing is you should teach your children about what is in the Bible, because the simple fact is that many stories and events in the bible underlies our English language, words and expressions. Without that knowledge they can be lost. Knowing and understanding the Bible does not presuppose having religious faith. Further, despite how much many of you despise the Christian faith, and in particular the Catholic religion, the Church is the origin of most of the foundational aspects of our society. Just read history and I mean real history not the bigoted history many of you seem to have gown up with. With regard to history, grow up.
