Why would the asx be perturbed? The company has a stated intention of returning $100m.
Why shouldn't the MD voice his belief of the most effective way of returning the cash? He is telling the market one thing....they are intending to return the money, there is no duplicity.
How you want to use the information is completely up to you.
They can't give the money back as a capital return, they will have franking credits, it is ridiculous for an explorer to buy back stock so what does it leave barring an acquisition?
