Houses should be more affordable, most people would agree with that (I even do as a residential property investor !!) .. so maybe the NG should be taken away from houses - to discourage investment in residential properties and instead Negative Gearing should perhaps be allowed to continue on Commercial Properties.
this way the government will still be getting their usual amount of taxes at the point of sale (stamp duty etc.. through an increased number of commercial transactions).. and investors will leave the residential properties investment arena.
That should make housing more affordable !
