The new lifting system and upgrading of shaft has been mentioned several times in ASX announcements. Shaft and lift sytems working to specs I meant the larger bin size, and the faster winding speed.
The old system was totally inadequate in that it was slow, used a single shaft, and used a 3/4 ton kibble bin. The max haulage with the old system on an exceptional day was about 50 tons from memory. This was without interuptions by drillers working elsewhere in the mine, miners working on developement elsewhere in the mine and the ususal stoppages caused by geos or managers checking up on something.
Hopefully with the new they will also have a better loading and unloading system. The announcement said they are still working on upgrades and some parts needed certification. In the mean time my understanding is that they still can use the older system.
Thankfully we'll soon have a quarterly and hopefully a comprehensive update which will shed light to this issue.
