The two key characteristics are the lack of understanding of finance and the allure of riches without effort or, as they put it, 'passive income.' These people drool when the words passive income are pronounced.
It never stops amazing me how the cliches of property investment and spruikers are very similar to those involved in network marketing. The suckers that fall for pyramid selling schemes (like vitamin or health products, etc.) have an outlook in life and behaviour just like the property 'investor.'
