Royal Dutch Shell has left the door the open to potential suitors for its remaining 24 per cent stake in Woodside Petroleum, but declined to comment directly on whether BHP Billiton has signalled an interest.
"I can't really confirm whether any particular party has shown interest," Shell chief financial officer Simon Henry said when asked whether BHP had approached the company.
"But Woodside is a good company, good growth prospects, performing well,growth and it's not in our interest to push for a deal."
