"subsequent analysis had confirmed three significant sand formation intervals that appeared to be gas charged, as well as all LEA #1 gas samples containing 99 to 100 per cent purity of dry natural gas.

Linc Energy Chief Executive Officer Peter Bond said the results were extremely positive for LEA #1 and the company.

�These results clearly show that we encountered gas whilst drilling and that it has potentially come from a source of considerable size,� said Bond.

�This opens up the commercial potential for this lease, as well as adjoining leases held in the region,� he said.

Now that the Alaskan winter conditions have passed, over the coming months Linc Energy will complete gas flow tests on LEA #1. Linc Energy is also aggressively moving to secure its resource position in Alaska, and coupled with its drilling in the Cook Inlet Basin, will also look to develop its Point Mackenzie and Trading Bay block acreage."
