Fantastic map john345. You are the Picasso of the tenement mapping world. This is very much appreciated and I?d like to acknowledge your generous sharing of such work. I?d also like to focus attention on the northwest part of the map for a moment to highlight the extraordinary capacity for DEG?s directors to acquire very valuable mining opportunities. The following map is by Minera Andes (hope it views OK if not follow the link below):

    (also see http://www.minandes.com/projects/san-jose-mine/default.aspx)

It shows the top left of the Deseado Masif region (as shown on the map from john345 at the start of this thread). The map I have posted includes the San Jose and Cerro Negro mines. The grey rectangles shows where Minera Andes thinks mineral trendings occur. The more vertical trending goes through the San Jose mine in the North, through some of Minera Andes new high grade finds and GoldCorp?s massive Cerro Negro mine (worth about $4billion; note the GoldCorp property is still labeled as Andean Resources [ASX:AND] on this earlier map). The reason this is meaningful for DEG shareholders is that DEG's Boleadora tenements begin at the bottom right part of this map just touching the base of the same lucrative vertical mineral trending in the map. Should this trending continue then it goes right through these DEG farm-in properties. And these DEG tenements extend tens of kilometers (as evidenced in Fig 4 of our last Quarterly Report).

They say for real estate to pick the cheapest house on the best street. And with neighbours like GoldCorp you could arguably call that mineral trending ?Billionaire?s Row?.
As mentioned in DEG?s last quarterly report this week:
?At the Boleadora project, systematic stream sediment sampling has been completed with sample collection at 221 sites (Figure 4). Multi-element and low level detection gold assays are expected mid May 2011 and are expected to define areas for follow up exploration next field season.?

And this is only one great location temenent for DEG. I am very impressed with DEG?s savvy choices of tenements ? both in Argentina and Australia. They seem to be very skilled at negotiating into prime locations.

Finally... the Andean Resources tenement on this map resulted in over a hundredfold increase in share price in the six or seven years up till it was taken over in 2010. If you ever want to read a tale filled with manipulation, regret, profit and loss then have a wander through the old AND threads on HotCopper. But it has a very happy ending for the long termers... good luck to all such within DEG.
