early license renewals

    i was wondering. If production licenses are not that expensive, why wouldnt a company renew early to get certainty going forward?

    seems before they commit to another expensive well and other production facilities that early renewal would seem a logical thing to do?

    im sure the government wouldnt mind the extra money

    thoughts?
