I think it's more likely the buyer preferred the idea of paying 8c than 8.1 and could easily do this by slightly reducing the number of shares he/she bought thanks to the way the auction works.
Not saying price hasn't been manipulated in the past but I think on this occasion it was as simple as that.
Not a huge saving but why pay more when you don't need to?
