How can you say "There is no way that ordinary shareholders would sell at these prices" ?

Ordinary shareholders sell every day of the week at whatever price it is currently trading at. Some ordinary shareholders were selling at $1.50 not so long back. Lets face it some people just lose light of the long term picture and others don't care for anything long term in the first place. A shareholder base of this size contains all sorts, shapes and sizes. You can't reasonably believe that you can categorise every non-institutional investor as sharing your logic when they make their decisions can you ?

If any of the big holders sell we will know about it within a couple of days. Haven't seen any change in substancial shareholding notices so far and unless we see one we will know that M&G haven't been selling.

I don't subscribe to your theory that M&G would throw their toys out of their pram because of this placement. I reckon they would be jumping for joy. They got on at dirt cheap prices so they could participate in the growth abd they knew when they did this that one of the key milestones would be exactly what was just announced.

Also note that M&G can't just acuire a large additional stake without breaching the 20% limit. I suspect they are very happy with what they have and are waiting to go mining just like many of us are.
