* RDF's Board meeting this arvo in Melbourne on an improved offer by the suitor (MQG and Carlyle)

* AFR's Dealbook understands the new offer removes the currency clause

* The improved offer is expected to be arounf the $2.70 mark, but may not get the dissenting shareholders on board. Mr Cooper has said he does not think $2.70 is a good offer.

* The bidders worked into Wednesday night to come to the new offer.
