I couldn't agree more that it is folly for a value investor not to compare price to value and why I support disregarding PE ratios. the E in PE does not represent value so how can a PE ratio compare price to value? It can't, end of story.
The PE helps (I emphasise "helps") determine the price that you pay for that value.
