The first investment of SARCO is a co-operative
business venture with respect to a bauxite tenement
in the Bolaven Plateau in Champasak Province in
southern Lao PDR. SARCO carried out exploration
work over an area of 66 sq km in the southern part
of that tenement in 2007. The arrangement is for
SARCO to eventually have 70% participating interest
in a joint venture in bauxite production when a mining
licence is issued over an area to be determined
after completion of a survey and a mine feasibility
study.
