afternoon all, hi drwho,

I did research the stocks, albeit briefly - all are considered (financially) either in distress or marginal by the leading fundamental researches in Australia.

I had no need to go further. It is possible to put further research into stocks such as these - but why would one bother when there are many fundamentally sound stocks available to choose from?
