If you are earning 150K a year and cannot make ends meet then there is seriously something wrong with you. --------------------------------------------------
Nothing wrong, people will live up to and a lot over their level of income. People are broke at different levels.

The next thing that should go is the government funding of wealthy elite private schools. ---------------------------
My daughter goes to a public High school. I would hate to think how much money it would cost to run it.
So the Government is getting a school cheap if the are only funding a portion of the real cost of a private school. To get rewards one must invest. Hopefully next generation of students will produce better quality politicians. That won't be too hard at present level of pollies. ================================
Also divert the 30% private health insurance rebate to the public system. -----------------------------
Yeah!, divert 30% rebate and add another 70% to the public system as people leave the private and over load the public system.
As in school funding, paying 30% is better than 100%.
Think about it,it makes financial sense to pay some one 30% so they will pick up the other 70% you would need to pay.
