it seems to be a common misconception on this forum that if you are a mum and/or dad and own an investment property then not only are you incapable of making any rational investment decision but you are about to be cast into the flames of hell for committing one of the deadly sins---that misconception is not supported by any analysis of home lending in australia. in fact australia has very low rates of mortgage default which suggests mums and dads arnt too bad---they are probably making good choices in what they invest in because they have some experience in property-- as a comparison how many small busnesses go to the wall each year---yet those that are taking the high ground here arnt castigating busness enterprise and before we start with the arguments about property is a home not an investment maybe they could provide a list of thier shareholdings and then we can discuss ethical investing
