Totally agree Bernard99 - many commentators have severely criticized Bernanke, but the the truth may be much scarier - that he is simply following the only option he has.

Critics and fans of Bernanke mostly agree on one point, that he has far fewer options available than Greenspan did. Maybe he has only one option left.

I think such a theory satisfies Occam's razor and the notion that human beings a basically good people most of the time.
