US economy will decline for the next 30 years just as the Japanese economy has done for the last 12 and will continue to do so (residentail property values falling 66% in the last 10 years) . Doesnt matter what governments do now. Zero population growth, ageing population, mind blowing consumer/government debt. How will they ever get out of it? they can't without righting off debt or going into world war 3 to create demand for stuff. another long story,, it's all pretty obvious, economist like to make it as complex as possible, simple fact is ultimatly economys based on perpetual growth must fail at some point. we're at that point now, America is at the crossroads now.
