America is sick because they are big consumers and small producers. Most manufacturing licences are sold to japan. The national debt will continue to increase. One day soon, the rest of the world is gonna wake up and tell the US to pay up. The Dow will continue to fall to 5000 level because there are no earnings. CEO's are under spotlight (Etrade CEO was paying himself $80m US a year mahahaha) and accounting rules are being changed. This means p/e's will go from 40ish now under "reported earnings" to around 100 under GAAP. dats gotta hurt!
Slowly, investors are waking up to the fact that wall st is just one big scam. They will vote with their feet (and wallets).
