Clean Global Energy's Technical Director and Board Member, Dr. Michael Green, will be speaking at a major UCG conference in the USA at a time of increased interest by governments worldwide in seeking cleaner, cheaper energy security for their nations.
As organisers of the 5th Zeus conference on UCG explains, "the advantages of UCG are readily apparent: savings from not having to mine and transport coal, capital costs lower than conventional plants, no ash disposal, ready CO2 sequestration options and the ability to tap into coal reserves otherwise deemed uneconomical to utilize in surface-based facilities and coal mining operations."
Organisers also say "government interest in and support of the concept is growing and will continue to do so in the wake of the Fukushima disaster. Solicitations of interest by governments, especially in Asia, for developers to demonstrate their concepts are likely to hasten."
This year's conference will examine the latest commercialisation efforts, consider regulatory issues and technological advancements, and discuss commercialising markets.
Dr. Green will provide delegates from around the world with an update on Clean Global Energy's UCG technology and current projects.
