Look at the short selling of the banks by hedge funds.

Now, for the record, in the weeks ahead the government will introduce short selling ban on bank and financial shares. If they do that, you know the crash is beyond the point of no return ( I already know that :))
It won't stop the rout, as normal selling would still occur BIT TIME once mon and pop and institutional investors join in on the action.
