    I think it is naive for BHP and RIO to think that the Chinese will continue to purchase more and more of their ore at premium when they have additional opportunities to purchase ore from themselves. The goal of the Chinese is reduce dependency on the big 3 cartel not increase it.

    BHP is no silver bullet for BRM. They have never wanted it at any stage. Whist they can't counter every move the Chinese make, the fact that WN are literally next door to BHP and actually now control the ground that BHP's railway runs over seems a threat to me, but BHP must not believe that this project will ever get off the ground.
