Black Cat! Now there's a blast from the past. We were also drinking it here, as one of the booze chains bought $1m shipment from someone that went broke & flogged at that very same price $1/bottle. I was buying it from the Southland (melb) bottle shop. Also a great cabernet called Canepa in a Mateus rose shaped bottle at that $1. & they were great drops.
The Black cat one, had a small plastic black cat tied around the neck of the bottle.

redned was an old way of describing red wine; often the cheaper stuff you speak of; but the 71 refers fo my favourite wine; '71 grange (second best one ever, after the '56). I was lucky to grab 6 bottles at $10 each while living in Sydney many years ago. Only have 1 left now, as at the last Penfolds clinic, I took my last 2 & 1 was badly off. They top up the ok ones with current vintage & you get to taste it as well.

ah, the good old days; good drinking wine for $1/bottle; grange for $10 & the young kids reckon it's better now. LOL.
