vinn: I don't use stop losses for that very reason. Either you 'believe' in the stock or you don't. Belief as such should not be blind but based on research. Given this, short term fluctuations in SP are just static. Agree with your analysis on manipulation. It costs money to manipulate, but they obviously think it is worth it. In fact, it is a back-handed compliment if they think a share is worthwhile they will bother. A share that is left to its own devices, i.e. just the market with no institutional or broker manipulation is not going to go anywhere in the medium term. (to newbies on stock manipulation, look at course of trades, and look for change in the SP based on a low volume trade.)
